Getting found on Google
Marketing for boiler installers that fills the diary with installs
By Gal Gazit Published Updated 6 min read

Most marketing in the plumbing and heating trade is built to bring in emergency callouts. Boiler installation is different work for a different kind of homeowner, one who plans, compares firms and takes their time. I help boiler installers get found by that homeowner, and everything I do points at one outcome: booked boiler installations.
The homeowner you want is planning ahead
Someone whose boiler has failed on a Friday evening wants an engineer within hours and rarely reads a review beyond the star rating. Someone planning a replacement behaves very differently. They search for things like new boiler cost and boiler replacement alongside their town, read reviews closely, put the same questions to AI tools and shortlist two or three firms before they ring anyone. The firm that shows real photographs of finished installs, gives plain answers and has reviews that describe the job tends to get the enquiry.
What I do for boiler installers
I keep the service narrow on purpose, because two things bring in most local boiler installation enquiries.
Local Services Ads. I optimise your Local Services Ads so your firm appears in front of homeowners who are actively looking for a boiler installer. There’s more on how they work in my guide to Local Services Ads for heating engineers.
Google Business Profile optimisation. I rebuild your Google Business Profile around boiler installation so local homeowners can find, trust and contact your firm. My guide to Google Business Profile for boiler installers walks through it.
What it looks like in practice
Flow Plus Plumbing is a plumbing firm in North London. Their first booked job came within 24 hours of launch, and in the first two weeks they had 17 tracked enquiries and 4 booked jobs. Those are Flow Plus Plumbing’s results from a new website plus Google Ads, which is how I worked with them. Today I work through Local Services Ads and Google Business Profile optimisation, and because every area is different, I always start by looking at how homeowners search for boiler installers in your patch.
How it works
- I map your patch. I check how local homeowners are searching for boiler installations in your area right now.
- I optimise your Local Services Ads. I focus them on homeowners actively looking for a boiler installer.
- I optimise your Google Business Profile. I strengthen it around boiler installations in the areas you cover.
- You quote and install. You do what you do best, and I show you every lead and booking.
I already get most of my work from referrals.
Referrals are the best kind of work and worth protecting. A homeowner who has been given your name will often look you up before they ring, so your profile and reviews either confirm the recommendation or quietly lose it. I help that check go your way, and I add a second source of enquiries from homeowners who have never heard of you.
I have been let down by marketing agencies before.
That’s a fair worry, and it’s why I show you every lead and booking, so you never have to take my word for how things are going. You can check every enquiry yourself in your own Local Services Ads dashboard, where you can listen back to the calls. Google charges for Local Services Ads leads rather than for clicks, and the free plan lets you see my thinking before you commit to anything.
Will the leads be time wasters?
Some enquiries will always be too small or too far away, and no ad format changes that. Local Services Ads bill for valid leads that relate to your services, and I aim them at boiler installation, so the enquiries you pay for come from people looking for a new boiler. I show you which leads became bookings so you can judge the quality yourself.
I do not have time for another project.
Most of the work happens without you, and you carry on quoting and installing. The one habit that helps most is asking happy customers for a review at handover, and that takes a single sentence.
I do not want to burn through a big budget.
With Local Services Ads you pay Google for valid leads, and we agree the monthly ad budget together at the start. Improving a Google Business Profile with photographs and better reviews costs very little. The free plan shows where the money would go before you spend any of it.
Could I just do this myself?
You can, and these guides show you where to start. Plenty of firms fix the basics on their own. Where I help is the ongoing part, running and tuning your ads, keeping your profile fresh and watching which enquiries turn into jobs, so it doesn’t slip when the diary gets busy.
I am not sure it will work in my area.
Every patch is different, in how many firms compete and in how homeowners search. That’s why I start with a free 5 minute video for your area, so you can see what looks realistic before you decide anything.
How is marketing for boiler installers different from general plumbing marketing?
General plumbing marketing is usually built around emergency callouts, where speed and a phone number matter most. Boiler installation customers plan ahead, so the work centres on being found and trusted by a homeowner who is comparing firms, through Local Services Ads and a Google Business Profile built around installations.
Can I work with you if I also do other heating or plumbing work?
Yes. Many of the firms I talk to are heating or plumbing businesses that also fit boilers. My work focuses on the boiler installation side of your business.
How soon could enquiries start?
It depends on your patch and how many firms compete there. Flow Plus Plumbing had its first booked job within 24 hours of launch. I start by looking at how homeowners search in your area so that we can set realistic expectations together.
What is the best way for a boiler installer to get more leads?
Most boiler installation enquiries start on Google, so a profile built around installations, reviews that describe the job and Local Services Ads cover the main routes. Replying quickly to every enquiry then protects the leads you have paid for or earned.
How do boiler installers get found on Google?
Google says local results depend on relevance, distance and prominence. A profile that clearly matches boiler installation, and a steady stream of good reviews, improves the first and the last of those.
Should I use Local Services Ads or a Google Business Profile?
They work best together. Reviews collected on your profile support your ads, and a strong profile helps homeowners trust you whichever route they find you through.
Can you promise a set number of boiler installation enquiries?
Yes, and it’s my personal promise to every firm I work with: “15 to 25 consistent boiler installation enquiries every month within 90 days, or we keep working for free until we do.” If you’re not there yet, my monthly fee stops until you are, as long as you keep the monthly Google ad budget we agree together at the start. You can check every enquiry yourself in your Local Services Ads dashboard and your Google Business Profile call stats.
